Kristie J. Iatrou

Kristie J. Iatrou, Associate Attorney, focuses her practice on state and federal tax controversies and litigation.  As a former Assistant Attorney General representing the Comptroller, Ms. Iatrou focused her practice in state tax disputes where she was involved in several cases that are currently pending before the Texas Third Court of Appeals.

Now, Ms. Iatrou uses her state tax experience to represent the firm’s state tax clients in administrative and legal proceedings before the Comptroller’s office, the State Office of Administrative Hearings and the Texas state courts.  She also represents federal tax clients at the administrative appeals level and in proceedings before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Courts.

Ms. Iatrou is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Tax Section), the Austin Bar Association, the Barbara Jordan Inn of Court (Associate), Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association, and Austin Young Lawyers Association.

Ms. Iatrou earned her B.A., cum laude, from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington.  She earned her J.D. in 2015 from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas where she served as a member of the St. Mary’s University Law Journal. Ms. Iatrou also assisted taxpayers at the St. Mary’s Low Income Tax Clinic earning their most prestigious award, the Francisco Leos Award for Excellence in Clinical Studies, while representing clients, engaging in federal tax controversies, and supervising clinic law students assigned to tax cases at the administrative level and in various federal courts.
