Michelle L. Terbay
Michelle Terbay, attorney, focuses her practice on state and federal tax controversies and litigation. Ms. Terbay has handled IRS cases involving substantial corporate and individual taxes. Her state tax experience includes disputes arising under the Texas sales and use tax and other state taxes.
Ms. Terbay represents the firm’s state tax clients in administrative and legal proceedings before the Comptroller’s office, the State Office of Administrative Hearings and the Texas state courts. She also represents federal tax clients at the administrative appeals level and in proceedings before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Courts. She is licensed to practice in the United States Tax Court, the United States District Court, Western District of Texas, and all of the Texas state courts.
Ms. Terbay is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Tax Section) and Austin Bar Association (Business, Corporate and Tax Section). She participated in the State Bar of Texas 2012 Tax Section Leadership Academy. She was also a member of the State Bar of Texas 2013 Advanced Tax Law Course planning committee.

Ms. Terbay earned her B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her J.D., cum laude, in 2005 from Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas. As a member of the Baylor Law Review, she served as Executive Editor and Articles Editor and was a member of the Order of Barristers.
